| One-day Seminar Series - Sensei Mark Loucks | June 2nd, 2012 |

Sensei Mark Loucks is one of the most experienced Goju-ryu instructors in the United States. He lived in Japan for several years, training at the legendary Yoyogi Dojo in Tokyo as well as at Jundokan Honbu Dojo in Okinawa under Miyazato Ei'ichi Sensei. For the past 25 years, Sensei Loucks has been a direct training student of Taira Masaji Sensei and is one of the leading followers of his training methods outside Okinawa. As a fluently bilingual Japanese speaker, he has been able to develop a much deeper understanding of the nuances of karate than is common in western instructors. For the past several years, Sensei Loucks has also been a member of a Naha-te study group in Seattle, joining popular karate author, Kris Wilder in the group research of sanchin kata.
